This famous soldier is shown in a traditional head and shoulders format within a painted oval, in the red uniform of a Lieutenant-General, with a black neck collar, blue facings and gold epaulettes.
Provenance
Painted for George IV for 30 guineas; recorded in the Armory at Carlton House in 1819 (no 495); sent to Windsor Castle in April 1829
