  • A fragment of the Berlin Wall with blue and red stripes of paint on the concrete surface, mounted on square grey marble plinth with inscription plaque. The graffiti suggests this fragment is from the side of the wall facing West Germany, as the residents of East Germany were not permitted access and it remained a plain concrete surface.
    Provenance

Presented to Her Majesty The Queen during the 1992 State Visit to Germany. This visit was the first made by The Queen following the fall of the Berlin Wall, and included engagements in Bonn, Cologne, Berlin, Dresden and Potsdam. The visit thus included the former states of West and East Germany.
