Letter from Nurse Clara Knight to the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother when Duchess of York (away on Commonwealth Tour), dated 8 March 1927 and written on Buckingham Palace headed notepaper. 'If Mummy looks into my wide open mouth with a little magnifying glass she will see my two teeth. Elizabeth quite well and happy! Allah' This letter, from Princess Elizabeth’s nurse Clara Knight ('Allah'), was sent to the Duchess of York in March 1927 when she and the Duke of York were on their Commonwealth tour of Australia and New Zealand. The letter was accompanied by a photograph of the Princess smiling, showing her two new teeth.
