This is Queen Alexandra's personal copy of the Christmas Gift book. It is a compilation of 136 photogravures (RCIN 2923983-2924120) over 48 pages, of Queen Alexandra's photographs of members of the royal family of England and Denmark, friends and royal visits. Ssome are printed as facsimiles stuck onto the page in the manner of a real photograph album, some are printed illustrations. Conceived and compiled by Queen Alexandra and Thomas Hall Caine (1853-1931) with the assistance of his son Ralph Hall Caine, it was published by the Daily Telegraph, to raise funds for charity. The frontispiece has a reproduction of a photograph of Queen Alexandra by W & D Downey. -
