Photograph of a daguerreotype of a half length portrait of Prince Albert. He faces towards the camera and gazes to the right.

The original daguerreotype exists in the Royal Collection, RCIN 2932488.

The photograph documents one of two the daguerreotypes of Prince Albert taken in 1842, the earliest photographic portraits taken of a member of the British royal family. The other daguerreotype was similarly documented, see RCIN 2931356.a.
