Photograph of Charles Paget, 6th Marquess of Anglesey, sitting in a tractor, looking to his left, from a low viewpoint.
He was a soldier during WW1 and later a farmer. His cousin the 5th Marquess of Anglesey ran up such huge debts to fund his lavish lifestyle and he was forced to sell Beaudesert in Staffordshire (now derelict) and live at Plas Newydd in Anglesey. In 1936 he commissioned Rex Whistler to paint a set of arcadic murals in the Dining Room. Paget was also Chamberlain to Queen Mary from 1922 until his death in 1947. -
