Count Vladimir Fyodorovich Adlerberg was a close friend of Nicholas I, Emperor of Russia and was President of the Russian Imperial Post Department. His son, Count Nikolay Adlerberg, served as the Governor-General of Simferopol and the Taurida Governorate during the Crimean War and as Governor-General of Finland. -
