She is wearing an evening dress with a full skirt and jewellery including a pearl necklace. There are flowers in her hair and she is holding a fan. There is a plant stand to the right and a fireplace to the left. Maria Feodorovna, born Princess Dagmar of Denmark, was the consort of Alexander III, Emperor of Russia. They had six children including Nicholas II, the last monarch of Russia.
