Haag was a Bavarian-born painter who became a naturalized British subject and was court painter to the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. There are many paintings and watercolours (see RCIN 450857) in the Royal Collection by him. He also hand-coloured a number of photographs.Provenance
