Photographic portrait of Ann Birkin, three-quarters length and seated, facing the viewer. Birkin was embroideress to Queen Victoria for 60 years. She holds a needle and thread in her right hand and hose in her left. She also wears a bonnet with floral trim.
Ann Birkin, while not employed in the Royal Household, had rendered a service to Queen Victoria for many years. She has embroidered Her Majesty's hose for sixty years.
