Photograph of a full length sculpture of Prince Albert (1819-61). The sculpture depicts the Prince Consort in his robes as Chancellor of Cambridge. The sculpture is displayed on a tall plinth. The plinth is inscribed `THE HIGHEST LEARNING/IS TO BE WISE/AND THE GREATEST WISDOM/IS TO BE GOOD'. The supporting pedestal is inscribed `ALBERT/PRINCE CONSORT/1862'.
The statue was intended for display in Salford.Provenance
