Photograph of a circular medallion decorated with four battle scenes, portrayed in shaped and inscribed frames carried by four putti. In the background are standards, flags, horns, spears, axes and other arms. There is an inscription in Latin all along the circumference of the medallion.
The medallion commemorates the victories of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough (1650 – 1722), including the Battle of Blenheim (1704).Provenance
