Photograph of a circular silver plaque, decorated with a laurel leaf border. The plaque depicts Actaeon, shown in the foreground on the far left, during his transformation into a stag as punishment for spying on the goddess Atermis as she bathed. The deity is shown towards the centre of the image, in a pond, accompanied by other female figures.
In middle ground, Actaeon as a stag is killed by his own hounds. Classical ruins, a town and a river between mountains are visible in the background.Provenance
