Photograph of the Roman Temple of Alcántara in Spain. A tympanum is supported on two columns which frame the entrance. Steps lead up to the entrance on which five figures are seated. A further sixth figure stands on the right of the temple, leaning against it. Inside the temple, a stone altar is visible. In the background defensive walls are built into the hillside.

Designed by Gaius Julius Lacer and completed in 103 AD, this temple is one of only two Roman temples preserved in their entirety within Spain.
