Photograph showing large group photograph of crew gathered on deck, near bow. This photograph comes from an album of groups, views and portraits presented to the Prince of Wales by the Captain and officers of HMS Serapis in remembrance of his voyage to India and back in the ship in 1875-6. The Prince embarked on the Serapis at Brindisi, Italy, on 16 October 1875, when she was escorted by the frigates Hercules and Pallas, with the Royal Yacht Osborne in attendance. He returned home in May 1876, escorted by the frigate Raleigh and attended by Osborne.
