Rectangular topped writing table of mahogany veneered in amboyna and inlaid with panels of mahogany decorated with brass lines, scrolls and foliate trails. Fitted with frieze drawers, front and back. Curved pedestal on a rectangular plinth with incurving legs.
Provenance
Possibly made for Princess Charlotte on the occasion of her marriage to Prince Leopold in 1816. Formed part of furniture at their residence at Claremont; bought by Queen Mary at sale of furniture from Claremont in October 1926.
