6.5" x 4.8" glass plate negative showing a three-quarter length portrait of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) with Princess Margaret of Connaught (1882-1920). Queen Victoria is standing facing left, her head resting against Princess Margaret with her arms around her. Princess Margaret is sitting on a pillow placed on top of a table to the left with her legs crossed at her ankles, her hands in her lap, her body turned right, and her head facing forward, looking sleepy. Queen Victoria wears a dark gown with a white collar, black lace shawl, a white ruffle-embellished veil, neckalces, and rings. Princess Margaret wears a light coloured ruffle dress with a dark sash across bodice, pendant, dark tights, and dark shoes. An urn and drape are in the background.
