6.4" x 4.7" glass plate negative showinga full length portrait of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) holding Alexander, Marquess of Carisbrooke, (1886-1960) when a baby. Queen Victoria is seated, with her body turned left, looking down at the baby in profile view. She is wearing a dark lace and ruffled gown with buttons down the bodice, a white veil with embellishments, and a brooch. She holds the baby, wearing a white gown, while he sleeps on her lap. There is a table in the background right of image. Corresponding gelatin silver print of negative: RCIN 2507500.
