As part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Presidency of the FEI (International Equestrian Federation) from 1964 to 1986, he took a leading part in the planning of the equestrian events at the Olympic Games held in Mexico City (1968), Munich (1972), Montreal (1976), Moscow (1980), Los Angeles (1984) and Seoul (1988).
