Photograph of the harbour at Kamiesh. In the foreground there is a camp and a large group of horses. The harbour is behind, with a line of horses and carts by the water to the left and buildings across the water to the right. In the sea beyond there is a large number of ships packed tightly together. The port of Kamiesh was used as a base by the French during the Crimean War. Supplies arrived by ship into the small harbour and were transported to troops engaged in the Siege of Sevastopol.
