Photograph of an exterior view of the Viceregal Lodge, now Áras an Uachtaráin, in Phoenix Park, Dublin. The lodge is located in the distant background. In front of the lodge is a lawned area and formal garden. A woman wearing a light colour dress stands on the lawned area, in the middle ground. A man wearing dark clothing and a top hat stands in the foreground, beside a topiary tree.
A carbon copy is adhered on top of the original albumen print. Carbon prints are more stable compared to albumen prints, the latter prone to fading. Carbon copies were therefore created for posterity.
