Carbon print | 7.5 x 7.2 cm (image) | RCIN 2320072
-
Photograph of a view of the Bank of Ireland, formerly the Irish Houses of Parliament, and Trinity College, Dublin. The view is taken from Westmoreland Street. A sculpture of Thomas Moore (1779-1852) can be seen in the middle ground, on the left.
A carbon copy is adhered on top of the original albumen print. Carbon prints are more stable compared to albumen prints, the latter prone to fading. Carbon copies were therefore created for posterity.
