Photograph of mountain ranges at Glencoe within a valley or 'Corrie' at Glencoe within the Scottish Highlands. Open moorland in the foreground leads to a valley situated in between mountains, the highest of which can be seen in the background.
Wilson produced a series of images of Glencoe that were similar to this view that were entitled 'Corrie-na-Baich, Glencoe'. This image was probably made during the autumn of 1860. This photograph is a later carbon copy which is a process that is less susceptible to light damage over time, unlike the original albumen photograph that was prone to fading over time.Provenance
From an album of photographs collected and arranged by Albert, Prince Consort between 1860 and 1861
