Photograph of a three quarter length portrait of Princess Margaret (1930-2002), standing, facing left, her head turned towards the camera. She rests her left hand on a side table beside her. She wears a tulle gown decorated with sequined butterflies, a five strand pearl necklace and a pearl bracelet on her left arm. Princess Margaret poses beside a ceramic and gilt tower, Four Pagodas (RCIN 1), and a mirrored wall. The photographer Cecil Beaton (1904-1980) is visible in the mirror's reflection. He is holding a camera in front of his chest and wears a suit and tie. Four unidentifiable figures, three male and one female, are also reflected in the mirror. The photograph was taken in the Principal Corridor, Buckingham Palace.
