Photograph of the unveiling of the statue of Prince Consort's statue on the Balmoral estate by Queen Victoria who stands with a family group to the left of the statue, all holding umbrellas. Highland regiments stand in formation to the right of the statue and a group of men wearing kilts and sporrans stand to the left of the group containing Queen Victoria. A large assembly of people under umbrellas stand on the left.
The statue commemorating the Prince Consort, who is portrayed with a dog and holding a gun, was unveiled on the 15th October 1867 by Queen Victoria and was designed by the sculptor William Theed (1804-91).Provenance
