Green leather bound album with gilt tooling and gilt edged pages. The first page is inscribed by hand in black ink, 'Helena Christmas 1861'. The album was compiled by Princess Helena, daughter of Queen Victoria, between 1861 and 1864. It contains 48 photographs and 20 hand-coloured lithographs(RCINs 2117155-2117222). The album includes views of Ireland, Scotland, particularly around Balmoral, the Isle of Wight and Osborne house, Germany, Canterbury and the Great Park, Windsor.
