Photograph of Queen Alexandra during the ceremony of Alexandra Rose Day in 1916, when artificial roses made by the disabled were sold in aid of hospitals by women volunteers. The Queen is photographed travelling in the back of an open-top carriage, waving and holding flowers in her left hand and wearing a hat with a veil over her face. There are people visible in the background.
