Photograph of the White Drawing Room, Buckingham Palace, richly decorated with giant pilasters designed by Nash, and an elaborate ceiling with sculptural reliefs. At the end of the room is a marble fireplace with a large overmantel mirror, and flanked by similar mirrors or pier glasses paired with an ebony-veneered cabinet with pietra-dura decorations, built into the walls (one of these mirrors/cabinets is a concealed door). The central mirror has since been replaced with a large portrait of Queen Alexandra by Francois Flameng, painted in 1908 (RCIN 405360). Within the room are an assortment of furniture, tables and chairs, and a pair of candelabras coupled with a large centre candelabra. The room is also lit from full-length windows to the left.
