Photograph of a corner of the 1855 Room at Buckingham Palace., with a large upholstered sofa, armchair and long table which is covered, an oval fire screen and small occasional table, and Sevres bowls on a shelf or table behind the sofa. On the wall are three paintings: Napoleon III (1808-73), Emperor of the French (RCIN 402022), The Review on the Champ de Mars, 24 August 1855 (RCIN 405111), and possibly, Queen Victoria at the Tomb of Napoleon, 24 August 1855 (402019).
The photograph was originally captioned 'Belgian Floor, Room 54', but it was later changed by another person, possibly by Queen Victoria. -
