Glass plate negative of a full-length portrait of John Grant (1842-82) standing. He faces towards the camera and looks down at Waldmann, a dog who sits by his feet. Grant holds the dog's lead and leans against a wall directly behind him. Photograph taken at Balmoral.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2160072.Provenance
