A marble bust of Queen Victoria wearing the Regal Circlet, earrings, a blouse chased with the emblems of the British Isles, over which are classical drapes on her left shoulder with the Garter Star. She looks three quarters to her left.
Provenance
Exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1854 and became one of Noble’s most celebrated works. Another version was made for Manchester City Hall and another is in the Government Art Collection.
Possibly acquired by Queen Victoria. -
