Giltwood sofa rectangular padded back, padded scrolled arms carved with large acanthus scrolls, scallop shells and rosettes, sprung and upholstered seats, panelled rail applied with double row of pierced entrelacs, turned imbrocated feet with beads.
Provenance
Formerly in the Golden Drawing Room or Corinthian Room in
Carlton House. A settee may be seen upholstered in red in the watercolour by Charles Wild of c.1817.
