After the Wedding Breakfast at Buckingham Palace, the bride and groom rode in an open landau to Waterloo Station. From there they travelled by train to Polesden Lacey in Surrey, which had been lent to them by the Honourable Mrs Greville. Polesden Lacey was given to The National Trust in 1942. Here, The Duchess and Duke of York, both wearing tweed, sit on a rustic bench in front of a hedge at Polesden Lacey.
