A carved ivory model of an elephant in elaborately carved harness with embroidered foliate scrolls and pendant tassels, bearing a howdah (seat) with triple canopy and painted finials, two figures inside, one driver in front and four accompanying footmen armed with spears and swords on an ivory stand.
Provenance
Presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76.
