A 19th century compilation of Persian proverbs and sayings by various authors. The book was written in India and praise of the Twelve Imams in the preface indicates the compiler was a Shia Muslim.
Following the preface (ff. 1-4) the proverbs are arranged in alphabetical order according to the first word. The section headings are written in red and the individual sayings are separated by three red dots.
The pages are bound in stiff paper boards faced with marbled paper and the inside covers are painted with a trellis design in silver. The manuscript is housed in a printed cotton wrapper. -
