Mughal court officials

Naqib Khan (d. 1624) (left) was a celebrated Mughal historian and the emperor’s official ‘reader’. In 1608 a Spanish Jesuit visiting the Mughal court described him as ‘a very grave man’. Hakim Abu’l-Fath (d. 1588) was a doctor at the Mughal court and is credited with the invention of huqqa.
