There is no visitor car parking at the Castle, so we recommend you use public car parks in the town centre. Details about parking can be found on www.windsor.gov.uk

By train

The nearest stations are 'Windsor & Eton Central' or 'Windsor & Eton Riverside'.  Visit National Rail Enquiries for times and fares.

By coach / bus

Green Line 702 service operates daily services from Greenline Coach Station which is near Victoria station, London.

Surbiton Coaches runs a shuttle bus service between Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Palace from spring to autumn. 

Tour companies operate excursions to Windsor Castle from many London hotels. For details, please ask your hotel concierge.

Attend our season of exciting summer activities. Try on some shining armour, meet a mail armour expert or make a sparkling Garter star to wear as you explore the home of Britain’s oldest and most senior band of knights.

 

Arts and crafts

Thursday 1 - Monday 26 August and Saturday 31 August

11:00 - 16:00

Take part in our art workshop related to the Knights of the Garter. Dress a portrait of The Queen for Garter Day, design your own heraldic shield or make a sparkling Garter Star.

 

Armour and knights talks

5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 August

11:30, 13:30, 14:30

Head to the State Apartments for talks about armour and knights, including the opportunity to handle and try on our replica armour collection.

 

Printing workshop

6, 7, 8 August

11:00 - 16:00

Drop-in to a special artist-led printing workshop, also on the theme of knights and armour, and set against the inspiring backdrop of the Moat Garden.

 

Meet a mail armour expert

Saturday 10 and Saturday 24 August

11:00 - 16:00

Chat to a mail armour expert in the State Apartments. Handle objects, try on costumes and maybe even receive a knighthood!
