Join us for the latest in our Slow Looking series, in collaboration with the Limina Collective. The practice of Slow Looking provides a unique opportunity for us to explore an artwork through the lens of mindfulness. Inspired by our current exhibition, Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography at The King's Gallery, Buckingham Palace, this event will focus on the theme of contrast as it is depicted in the photograph of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother when Queen Elizabeth, taken by Cecil Beaton in July 1939.

In this event, Lucia van der Drift from the Limina Collective will lead us through a series of relaxing and reflective exercises including meditation, guided looking and journaling. Lucia will also be joined by our exhibition curator, Alessandro Nasini, who will share some insights into the history of the photograph itself, providing a little background into how it was taken and the set of three which this photograph belongs to.
