Prince Albert was an early enthusiast of photography and closely followed the development of the medium.

One of Prince Albert's great forward-thinking projects was creating a visual survey of every known work of art by, or after, Raphael. Images of the smallest drawings to the largest fresco were included through the new invention of photography as well as reproductive prints.  Join our curators as they display examples from this extraordinary resource, rarely seen before, which demonstrates Albert's relationship with early photography and anticipates much that we take for granted in the age of the internet.

Part of our bicentenary celebrations at Windsor Castle for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's birthdays.
