Holyrood Abbey is one of the most important buildings in Scottish history, having witnessed coronations and royal weddings, treaty signings and parliaments, births and funerals. Today, this romantic ruin not only echoes with the footsteps of the great figures who walked there – Robert the Bruce, Margaret Tudor, James V, Mary, Queen of Scots and more – it is also the site of tombs and memorials to a host of fascinating people.
