Holyrood Abbey is one of the most important buildings in Scottish history, having witnessed coronations and royal weddings, treaty signings and parliaments, births and funerals. Today, this romantic ruin not only echoes with the footsteps of the great figures who walked there – Robert the Bruce, Margaret Tudor, James V, Mary, Queen of Scots and more – it is also the site of tombs and memorials to a host of fascinating people. In these socially distanced talks, discover some of the fascinating stories behind the famous and not-so-famous figures memorialised in the ruins of Holyrood Abbey.

These talks are socially-distanced, with limited capacity; talks are drop-in and not pre-booked.

All events at the Palace of Holyroodhouse will be managed in line with COVID-secure procedures. Please see our Welcome Back page for more information.
