Our summer family activities take you back to the days of fearsome battles and secret romances. Discover what life was really like for the knights and ladies who lived at Windsor Castle in medieval times, follow a special themed activity trail and find Sir Geoffrey, a knight at the court of Henry VIII, who is hiding in rooms in the State Apartments.  Here's what's on offer:

Saturdays: 2, 9, 16 and 23 August

Pause in the State Apartments and chat to a mail armour craftsman, who will be demonstrating and explaining how mail armour is made.  You may even get to try on some of his creations!  Drop in between 11:00 and 16:00.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 August

Have fun trying on some of our amazing replica armour collection in the State Apartments and find out why armour changed over time.  Sessions will run at 11:30, 13:30 and 15:00.

Every day: Saturday 2 to Monday 25 August

Come to the Moat Room and get creative with our art materials to make your own helmet, shield, sword or henin (medieval lady's headdress).  The room will be open 11:00 to 16:00 (last admission 15:30).
