In this historic Coronation year, join us for an exclusive afternoon at Buckingham Palace to learn more about the special Coronation display that forms part of a visit to the Summer Opening of the State Rooms. On a day when the Palace is usually closed to the public, enjoy a private tour of the display and talks by its curator, Sally Goodsir, and learn more about the craftsmanship and history behind Their Majesties’ Coronation ensembles. Sally's talks will focus on the history of Coronation robes, which are the most special ceremonial dress worn by the sovereign, and the contemporary crafts and skills which were brought together for this year’s Coronation textiles. Your experience continues with light refreshments on the West Terrace overlooking the famous Buckingham Palace Garden, followed by a curator-led tour of the special Coronation display in the Palace’s Ballroom.

Please note that the Study Afternoon does not include a tour of The State Rooms, Buckingham Palace. Standard admission tours may be purchased on a day when the Palace is open by visiting www.rct.uk.
