This study afternoon celebrates Charles II's transformation of the State Apartments which was influenced by his time in exile and from customs that he adopted from his cousin Louis XIV. Learn how these magnificent rooms were created through the collaborative efforts of Antonio Verrio and Grinling Gibbons.  Following lectures with our curators, you will view these apartments and experience an aura of great opulence as a 17th century courtier would have done.  Original watercolours of the rooms will be examined revealing images of surviving interiors and those that have been lost forever.
