    This year marks the 200th anniversary of George IV’s historic visit to Scotland, the first visit of a British reigning monarch in nearly two centuries. Join curators from Royal Collection Trust to explore George’s fantastic love of ceremony, including his Coronation tours to not only Scotland but also Hanover, England and Ireland; discover the role played by the Palace of Holyroodhouse in the visit of 1822 and the legacy of this occasion for the city of Edinburgh; find out about his astonishing collecting tastes, including many masterpieces currently on display in The Queen’s Gallery, Edinburgh.

    Participants can enjoy a tour of spaces used by George IV at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, together with a chance to see Collection items relating to his visit. Access to the State Apartments and complimentary tea and coffee are included in the ticket price.
