Speaker: Lauren Porter, The Royal Library

In the winter of 1510 Leonardo worked alongside the Professor of Anatomy at the University of Pavia, and made a series of drawings of the bones and muscles of the human body. This talk will examine the illustrative techniques used by Leonardo to record his investigations, and will focus on two extraordinary sheets in which Leonardo turns the muscles of the arm and shoulder through 180° in eight individual drawings.

10-Minute Talks are free with an exhibition ticket or 1-Year Pass.
