AFTER RITA MARTIN (1875-1958)

Lady Crossley

1909

RCIN 2946247

Rita Martin was inspired to establish a photographic studio after working in the studio of her sister, Lallie Charles. Martin's photographs are featured in 'England's Beautiful Women'. This photogravure of Phyllis (née de Bathe), Lady Crossley, later Lady Somerleyton (d.1948) was accompanied by a caption describing Lady Crossley as interested in politics, and "fond of all Country pursuits" with "a special interest in gardening."
