In late 2001, Borland was commissioned to photograph Queen Elizabeth II (b. 1926) for the 2002 Golden Jubilee. Borland's trademark use of bright colours features in the form of a glittering gold material background, representative of Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee. A sense of intimacy is achieved through the close crop.
