This casket, decorated in repousse with depictions of the Hindu goddess Meenakshi, was presented to the Prince by the community of Madurai, in the temple dedicated to the goddess. The corners of the casket are modelled to represent yalis, elephant-headed lions associated with Hindu iconography.
