Garden Party at Windsor Castle on the occasion of the marriage of Princess Margaret of Connaught, 14 June 1905

RCIN 921085

Princess Margaret of Connaught, daughter of Prince Arthur, Queen Victoria's third son, married Crown Prince Gustav Adolf of Sweden in Windsor in 1905.

This garden party was held to mark the arrival of all of the royal guests for the wedding. That evening a State Banquet was held at Windsor Castle. The wedding itself was the following day, after which the couple returned to Sweden, although Margaret would not live long enough to become Queen of Sweden, dying suddenly in 1920.
