BBC Radio Jersey
Her Majesty The Queen made her first official visit to Jersey as Head of State in 1957. During the visit The Queen was presented with a large silver Jersey milk churn, the sides engraved with crests of the twelve parishes of the Island of Jersey. On the same day The Queen was also presented with a Jersey cow named Beauchamp Oxford Lady by the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society, who joined the royal dairy herd at Windsor.
To complement the Royal Collection Season on the BBC Royal Collection Trust's Senior Curator of Decorative Arts, Kathryn Jones discussed the gift presented to The Queen, which was displayed at Buckingham Palace in 2017 as part of the summer exhibition Royal Gifts.
